Most often than not, we decide to buy a packaged product out of habit, convenience, lack of time, hunger or temptation. Brands are very skilled at pinpointing what’s in their advantage. Highlighting aspects like sugar-free, low-fat, gluten-free, vegan, protein-rich on the front packaging really has the power to hook buyers – both online and offline. And research has shown that adding health claims makes people believe a product is healthier than the same product that doesn’t list health claims.
But how often do you check what’s on the back label?
A margarine would claim “palm oil free”, “vegan” and eventually also “organic”, which would instantly make some people believe it’s a better option than buying a normal butter that usually only has one ingredient.
To help you be more aware of the food products you buy for your children or for your entire family, this is what you’ll learn in this free webinar:
- How to read and interpret the nutritional value table
- How to read and assess the ingredients list
- What are the most misleading “health” claims
- What does “Nutri-Score” mean and how does it help or confuse
- What are the different names for sugar
- Concrete examples of labels from various food categories (baby food, sweet & savoury snacks, dairy and alternatives, cereals / granola, canned foods, cold cuts).
Duration: presentation 1h30′ + Q&A session 30′.
